๐Ÿ“ขWe have great news! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

To streamline our Out-Of-Zone (OOZ) process for returning students and to provide our families with more peace of mind, we have replaced the full annual application with a simplified Letter of Intent. ๐Ÿ“

๐Ÿ“ฑFor current OOZ students in grades Kโ€“4, 6, and 7, who have been pre-approved, parents/guardians will receive a Letter of Intent via the guardian's email listed in PowerSchool beginning today. If you expect a letter and don't receive one this week, please call Let's Talk! 575-812-8573 starting Tuesday, February 17. ๐Ÿ’ป

๐Ÿ’ซHere are a few exceptions:
โ–ช๏ธStudents transitioning to Middle School: Please note that all current 5th-grade students moving to 6th grade next year must complete a new Out-of-Zone application if they are requesting an OOZ school.
โ–ช๏ธAll new students to APS and incoming 6th graders will complete the OOZ application.
โ–ช๏ธIf you are returning to APS but have not previously completed an OOZ application, you will complete a new application as well.

โœจThe application window for new requests will open on March 2nd.โœจ

We want to remind drivers of the importance of using caution as you drive through school zones and encounter ๐ŸšŒ school buses in the mornings and afternoons. Please obey school zones' speed limits, and come to a COMPLETE STOP while the bus stop signal is out, and only proceed driving after the STOP signal is REMOVED by the bus driver. ๐ŸšŒ

Thank you for helping us keep our students safe.

Love the bus month, please help us keep our students safe.

Tomorrow is Pack the Bus Day!

Did you know? ๐ŸšŒOn the 80th & 120th day of school, APS captures a snapshot of the bus ridership to report to NMPED. The information collected on this day is very important and impacts the funding our district receives for transportation. Transportation funding not only supports students' daily rides to and from school, it can also support in-district school field trips.

๐ŸšŒTomorrow, Wednesday, February 11th, if your child is a bus rider, please help us provide an accurate count by having them ride the bus. ๐ŸšŒ
