πŸ“’Important announcement for Alamogordo High School families.

Please take a moment to read the important announcement below regarding the upcoming change to parking/waiting areas near AHS.

Upcoming Change to Parking/Waiting Areas Near AHS Thursday, November 6, 2025 Dear APS High School Families, We have been informed of a change that will affect where families can park and wait during drop-off and pickup at Alamogordo High School each day. The City of Alamogordo has designated the area between the flashing school zone lights on Cuba Ave. as a noparking zone. They will be installing β€œNo Parking While Lights Are Flashing” signage along the roadway in front of the high school in this zone. Installation is scheduled to begin tomorrow, Friday, November 7th. This will affect the section of road where many families currently park and wait for students. Once these signs are in place, vehicles will not be allowed to park in those posted areas during active school zone times and should expect enforcement by the Alamogordo Police Department. We understand that this change will create inconvenience and may require a shift in normal routines, especially for families who have relied on that space for waiting. We are sharing this information as soon as we received it so families can plan accordingly. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, as our shared goal is always student safety, and we will continue to communicate any updates or guidance as we receive them. The APS Soccer Complex is available for families to park and wait for their students. A protected crosswalk is available at the intersection of First Street and Cuba Avenue. If you have any questions concerning this change, please contact the Alamogordo Police Department. Thank you for your patience as we work through this together.

Last week to bring socks!🧦

Did you know that socks are one of the most requested, but least donated items for people experiencing hardship? Let’s change that – one pair at a time. πŸ’›We are leading this effort to bring comfort and care to our students, and we’re inviting schools and community members to join in!

πŸ“ Look for collection boxes at every APS school and locations throughout the community.
🧦 All donations go directly to students who need them most.
🎯 Goal: Warm feet, full hearts, and a stronger, more connected community.
Let’s make this the coziest and kindest Socktober yet! πŸ§¦πŸ’›
