Nominations are now open for Operation Homefront's 2027 Military Child of the Year® Awards through December 1. 🎉

Now is the opportunity to highlight the military children in your life who are empowering, trailblazing, and resilient. The awards are open to military children between the ages of 13-18. There are 7 recipients: 1 child from each branch of service, and each recipient receives $10,000 CASH, a laptop, other donated goodies, and a 3-day trip to Washington, D.C.! The program is entirely FREE and exclusive to military children, and you do not need to create an account to submit a nomination.

📢APS Drop-Off/Pick-Up Lane Reminder!

To help keep traffic moving, we ask that parents/guardians using the drop-off/pick-up lane remain in their vehicles. If you need to get out of your car to assist your student, please park in a designated parking spot rather than stopping in the drop-off/pick-up lane. For the safety of all students, please ensure your student always exits/enters the vehicle on the sidewalk side. This is essential to prevent students from stepping into traffic or active driving lanes. 🚗🚘

Need to register your student to ride the school bus? 🚌 Please fill out the Bus Ridership Form.

The first step in setting up transportation for your student is to complete the Bus Ridership Form, agree to the Ridership Policies, and be assigned to a bus route. Once assigned, you will be able to utilize the My Ride K-12 App!

Completed Bus Ridership Forms must be returned to the Transportation Department at transportation@alamogordoschools.org. Questions? Please call 575-812-6017.

School Bus Ridership Form The minimum walking distances, one way, for grade levels are as follows: Grades K-5 = 1 mile / Grades 6-8 = 1.5 miles / Grades 9-12 = 2 miles Transportation is provided only to and from the nearest bus stop to the eligible student’s place of residence and their attendance zone school.
