๐Ÿงฆโœจ Itโ€™s Socktober โ€“ and weโ€™re collecting new socks all month long to support students in need across our district!

Did you know that socks are one of the most requested, but least donated items for people experiencing hardship? Letโ€™s change that โ€“ one pair at a time. ๐Ÿ’›We are leading this effort to bring comfort and care to our students, and weโ€™re inviting schools and community members to join in!

๐Ÿ“ Look for collection boxes at every APS school and locations throughout the community.
๐Ÿงฆ All donations go directly to students who need them most.
๐ŸŽฏ Goal: Warm feet, full hearts, and a stronger, more connected community.

Letโ€™s make this the coziest and kindest Socktober yet! ๐Ÿงฆ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ“ขReminder! The last day to complete the Framework for the Future Survey is this Friday, September 26th. ๐Ÿ’ป

Last year, we asked you to share your thoughts as we began developing our Framework for the Future, a long-term strategic plan. Thanks to your valuable input and the hard work of APS teachers, students, families, administration, and community members, the strategic plan has been developed, and we are moving forward with implementation.
As we continue this work, Alamogordo Public Schools, alongside the School Board and our partner, Learner-Centered Collaborative (LCC), are launching three new learning cohorts. These groups will focus on implementing our Framework in classrooms across the districtโ€”helping us ensure that our students are truly college, career, and life-ready.

To guide this next phase, we are seeking more in-depth insights from our families and community members. Your voice is vital to this process. By completing the survey linked below, you will help shape how our schools grow, how our students learn, and how our community continues to thrive.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by Friday, September 26th: https://bit.ly/APSimpact2526
You can also visit our Framework for the Future webpage to learn more about this work and stay updated on our progress: https://www.alamogordoschools.org/page/framework-for-the-future

We greatly appreciate your time and thoughtful participation. Together, we are building the future of learning in Alamogordo.

A Letter from the Principal Dear AHS Families and Community, Homecoming is always a special time at Alamogordo High School, and this year we are excited to celebrate with an Oscars theme. Our students are the true stars of AHS, and Homecoming is the perfect moment to shine the spotlight on their talents, accomplishments, and school spirit. Whether on the football field, in the band, through color guard and cheer, on the stage, in the classroom, or in countless clubs and organizations, our students put in tremendous effort and heart. Each of them deserves recognition for the unique role they play in making AHS such a vibrant place. I encourage all of our families, alumni, and community members to come out and support our Tigers during Homecoming week. Letโ€™s fill the stands, cheer loudly, and celebrate the many ways our students shineโ€”both under the Friday night lights and in every other capacity where they showcase their dedication and pride. Together, letโ€™s give our students the red-carpet treatment they deserve. After all, our kids are the stars of AHS, and this is their time to shine in the spotlight. With Tiger Pride, April Shay Principal, Alamogordo High School
