Student Nutrition

Student Nutrition Services Overview

We are looking forward to serving our students healthy, fun nutritious meals that meet the USDA meal pattern standards.

The Alamogordo Public Schools Student Nutrition Services Department provides breakfast and lunch for all students who attend District Schools. The department also provides summer lunch program meals at sites around the city of Alamogordo.

Redefining Campus Dining

Student Nutrition is more than just a sack lunch or a tray from the school cafeteria. It is taking the time to adequately plan, prepare and provide nutrition based on dietary guidelines from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and other health professionals to provide your student the best lunch possible. From the moment you walk in one of our dining facilities, you are transported from the hustle and bustle of campus life to the comfort of a friendly neighborhood restaurant - or a trendy downtown food truck. Receive our premiere standard of service and food, but in an atmosphere, that’s been designed to match.

Free & Reduced Meals

The 2023-24 school year Categorically Eligible Provision (CEP) Schools are:  Alamogordo High School, Buena Vista Elementary, Desert Star Elementary, High Rolls Mountain Park Elementary, La Luz Elementary, North Elementary, Sierra Elementary, Sunset Hills Elementary, Yucca Elementary, Stepping Stones Pre- Kindergarten, Chaparral Middle School, & Mountain View Middle School. Regardless of income, these schools' students will receive free breakfast and free lunch. With the governor's signing of the State of New Mexico SB-4 Bill, all students at all schools will be eligible for a free breakfast and a free lunch. Non-CEP Schools are still required by NM State guidelines to complete an income eligibility application to possibly qualify the school for other State and/or Federal programs.

You may apply online at LINQ Connect (formerly Titan) for free or reduced status (one application per household is required). Please use the student's legal name when completing the application. Applications are accepted throughout the school year should there be a change of income, such as a reduction/increase in salary, furlough, unemployment, etc., or household size. You may submit a new application at any time.

No cash will be accepted in any cafeteria but will be accepted at the AHS Bookstore, or District Office, Building B, Student Nutrition Department, 1211 Hawaii Ave.

In accordance with federal regulations, Free and Reduced School Meal Applications may be verified at any time during the school year. Selection is random and notices will be sent out by regular mail anytime verification is required. In addition, you have the right to appeal the decision should you disagree with the results of your free/reduced application.

You may request a fair hearing in writing to:
